Eskimo Ivory Female Fertility Figure

Unusual Alaska Eskimo Inuit, walrus ivory torso figure of a pregnant female. A rare form which likely served as a personal talisman to assist the pregnancy term for an expecting family. While fertility figures appear amongst native groups Worldwide, they are less common in North America. Good condition with pleasing ethnographic wear and patina.
